‘Ashamed of you’: Bengal Congress leader blasts Abhishek Singhvi for representing TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee
Bengal Congress leader Kaustav Bagchi Bagchi claimed that party leaders and workers feel ashamed of Abhishek Singhvi for representing Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee in a case at the Supreme Court.

By Rajesh Saha: Congress leader in West Bengal and counsel of the Calcutta High Court, Kaustav Bagchi wrote a letter to senior Congress leader and Supreme Court advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi expressing his displeasure with the latter’s recent actions.
In the letter, Bagchi claimed that Bengal Congress leaders and workers feel ashamed of Singhvi, who recently represented Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee in a case at the Supreme Court. The case in question had been removed from the bench of Kolkata HC justice Abhijit Ganguly. Singhvi’s decision to represent Banerjee in the case caused anger among some Congress party members in Bengal, including Bagchi.
Bagchi, who had previously stopped senior Congress leader and advocate P Chidambaram from fighting a case on behalf of the Bengal government, threatened to do the same thing with Singhvi if he ever came to Kolkata. In his letter, Bagchi stated that while Singhvi has every right to choose his clients, he cannot ignore his obligations towards the Congress workers in Bengal.
